The first thing that catches your eye is a new Microsoft Word 2013, dynamic interface. The window frames no longer support Aero, they are square and visually closer to the promoted Microsoft interface Metro UI.

Microsoft’s Metro UI design language is an internal code name for a typography-based design created and used by the company. Microsoft originally started using Metro in Media Center and showcased a full version in the Zune products. Microsoft’s latest mobile operating system, Windows Phone 7, also features the Metro look and feel.
Microsoft is seeking to employ an Outlook software development engineer at its corporate headquarters in Redmond, Washington. A recent job listing by the software giant said, ”We are now going to take OWA to the next level and build the next generation clients for desktop and the latest mobile and slate devices. The next generation client will include world-class messaging, contacts, calendaring and social collaboration for both enterprise and cloud, and will use the latest in web technology.”
Microsoft also appears to be readying an improved system for time management in Outlook Web App and Exchange. Continuing, the job listing also states, “We need you to develop new and easier ways for our customers to manage meetings, appointments and tasks. At Microsoft we are all heavy users of Exchange’s calendar features so you will have the ability to greatly influence a feature near and dear to us all.”
Microsoft is believed to get Word 13 ready in the 2013 time-frame.
